Alright so to put it breifly just bought this computer two days ago and I can't get any form of audio to work. Also can't seem audio output device for windows 8 free download free find the driver itself to manually reinstall it. Possible reasons: I suspect that one of the main reason is that by having the updates one if not more of them corrupts the function of my audio drivers effectively turning it off. Using system restore granted the use of my audio once more but the moment I do updates I loose again my use of audio.

This could be a simple issue or the start of a very complicated issue involving hardware. Regardless of the cause and fix you want it fully documented in case of further related issues down the road. Also check this : Control Panel - Power Options - Change Plan Settings for the plan active and check those and even switch to another plan as a test - Advanced Power Settings - check the settings there. Especially under USB and Multimedia. Rob - SpiritX. I changed the "Onboard Audio" setting from"Auto" to "Enable" and all worked well. Windows 8 then showed by audio devices and all is well.
